Biography

You know those innovative people who create something phenomenal, but struggle to connect with an audience or team of colleagues? Or maybe you know what it’s like to be passionate about your work, but get so bogged down by the day-to-day to-do’s that you dream of cloning yourself or growing a third arm just to juggle it all. THOSE are the people and growing organizations Stephanie Pruitt-Gaines LOVES to help.

As an artist/poet and entrepreneur with two decades of navigating the passion/purpose vs. practical/profitable lines – Stephanie is skilled at operationalizing dreams and making the conceptual concrete.

Having taught at Vanderbilt University, served as a Mentor-in-Residence/business coach at The Wond’ry and led over 200+ workshops across the country, Stephanie is a waymaker for organizations, techies & artists, and thought leaders incorporating creativity & self/community care as a professional strategy.

Stephanie Pruitt-Gaines’ latest venture is Nailed It Myself, an art-filled, glamtech company featuring custom nail wraps. The ARTrepreneur and TEDx speaker curates Poems & Pancakes as well as The Nia Collection. She has served on the Board of Directors of Metro Arts, The Arts & Business Council, Thistle Farms, and regularly helps entrepreneurs and organizations multiply their revenue while decreasing their stress and burnout.

Stephanie is the author of the forthcoming book Do Enough Yourself: The busy person’s guide to making & communicating decisions, boundaries, and delegating

Why She Is Your Speaker

“Wow!!! After hearing Stephanie speak, I’m excited to revise my whole way of handling my business as an artist. My parents will be relieved to know that I’m minding my money AND living my genuine artist best life.”

Roderick H., Muralist

“I get so tired of the self care craze propped up by companies wanting you to buy their indulgent products. I’d call what Stephanie shared SOUL CARE. Her talk was all about practical, everyday skills I’ll actually use. Refreshing and powerful!”

Carmen J.

"Thoughtful. Honest. Stephanie’s a skilled artist, effective change-maker, and advocate for all artists. She’s a wonderful public speaker. If you have an opportunity to work with her directly or hear one of her dynamic talks, DO IT."

Jennifer Cole, Executive Director, Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts

"Stephanie draws on her combined expertise as an artist, educator, and entrepreneur. She gets people thinking in new ways. I highly recommend Stephanie if you’re ready to delve deep and come away with a clear picture for your (or their organization's) plan for growth."
